What our theme core can do, built in.

Most themes leave the features that sell to apps, each with its own script on every page and its own monthly fee. Ours has them built in, and each one loads only on the pages that use it.

Selling more

  • Color swatches: a shopper picks a color on the product card and sees that variant’s photo.
  • Quick add: add to cart from a collection. A product with one variant goes straight in; one with options opens a small picker, with Shop Pay and the other express buttons if you want them.
  • Cart drawer or cart page: your pick, with a free-shipping bar that counts down to your threshold and an optional order note.
  • Pay in instalments: “or 4 payments of…” under the price, for Shop Pay, Afterpay, Klarna, PayPal Pay in 4 and others.
  • Sticky add to cart on phones: once the button scrolls away, a bar with the price and options stays at the foot of the screen.
  • Back in stock: a sold-out product takes an email address, so you can tell the shopper when it’s back.
  • Low stock and local pickup: “Only 3 left”, and whether it can be collected today, on the product page.
  • Subscriptions: your subscription app’s plans, picked on the product page and named in the cart.
  • Related, complementary and recently viewed products: from Shopify’s own recommendations and the shopper’s own visits.
  • Search as you type: products, collections and pages appear as the shopper types.
  • Filters: in a sidebar or a drawer, as checkboxes or tags, with a price slider or ranges.
  • Load more or infinite scroll: or numbered pages. The Back button returns to the same place in the list.
  • Shop the look and product spotlights: a photo with its products pinned to it, or one product told at length.
  • Comparison tables and before-and-after sliders: your product against the alternatives, or the difference it makes.
  • Zoom, video and 3D: product photos zoom and open full size; videos and 3D models play in place.
  • Star ratings: from your reviews app, on product cards and pages, and in what Google reads.
  • Announcement bar, countdown and sign-up pop-up: for offers, launches and your email list.
  • Gift cards and an age check: a page for the gift card’s recipient, and an age gate for stores that need one.

Looking like your brand

  • 60+ sections: slideshows, image banners, mosaics, marquees, testimonials, press logos, FAQs, portrait videos in the style of TikTok and Reels, and more, each with its own spacing, width and background.
  • Your colors and fonts: set once, and every color pair checked against WCAG 2.2 AA contrast.
  • Four button styles: each with its own colors, shape, hover and press effect.
  • Product cards your way: image shape, a second image on hover, alignment and badges for sale, new and your own tags.
  • Menus: a mega menu on desktop and a drawer on phones, in the style you pick.
  • Motion: how text, images and buttons reveal as the page scrolls, how far and how fast, or none at all.
  • Image shapes and icons: corner radius, image ratios, section edges, and the icons’ style and weight.

Loading fast

  • Scripts only where they’re used: one small bundle loads with the page, and every feature above brings its own script only to the pages that have it.
  • Images sized for the screen: a phone downloads a phone-sized image, the first one loads first, and the rest wait until they’re near the screen.
  • Long pages drawn as they’re reached: sections far down a page aren’t laid out until they come near the screen.

How each one works, and how to check it: how we make it fast.

Easy to run

  • Everything in the theme editor: over 200 settings in Shopify’s theme editor, grouped by what they change, so your team edits the store without code.
  • Documented for AI tools: the theme comes with the files Shopify’s Sidekick and coding agents read before they change it, so a request like a new button shape changes a setting, not the code.
  • Selling abroad: country and language pickers appear when your store sells in more than one.

What’s in those files: the technical spec.

Accessible and findable

  • Built to WCAG 2.2 AA: a skip link, a visible focus ring on everything, menus and dialogs that work from the keyboard, and no motion for anyone who asks for less.
  • Read right by search and AI: structured data for products with their ratings, breadcrumbs, articles and your store, with titles, social previews and canonical links on every page.

What’s checked, and how: the technical spec.

Coming

  • Products in the menu drawer, and more product card designs.
  • A filter’s values grouped into one button: overlapping swatches, grouped sizes.
  • A bottom sheet on phones for the size guide, buy buttons and sharing.

FAQ. Straight answers.

Does every theme get every feature?

No. Your theme gets the sections and features your store needs and none of the rest, so there’s less for your team to set up and less code for a phone to load. Anything here can be added later.

Do we still need apps?

For some things, yes: reviews, subscriptions and loyalty run on their own apps, and the theme shows them in place. What a theme can do itself, it does, so you don’t pay monthly for an app to draw a swatch or a free-shipping bar.

What if we need something that isn’t here?

We build it into your theme, in the same code as the rest, and it’s in the fixed price we give you on the call.

Next step. See your store on our core.

Book a call, and we’ll build your preview before it.
